Two of the four petitioners of the National Grand Coalition (NGC’s) recently conducted National Delegates’ Conference, Saidu Abass Dumbuya – Candidate for the position of National Organising Secretary and Ambrose Osman Bangura – Candidate for the position of Deputy National Secretary General have withdrawn their petition from the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC).
Reference to a letter dated 6th December 2022 regarding the matter of a petition against the National Grand Coalition Party with the caption: “In the matter for the nullification of decisions and Electoral processes at the National Delegates Conference held on 13th and 14th December 2022 by the National Grand Coalition Party”.
In a letter written to the PPRC yesterday 9th January, the petitioners said: “We the undersigned hereby write to withdraw our petition from your reputable institution that is charged with the responsibilities of registering and regulating political parties’ affairs in Sierra Leone.
We, the undersigned have considered it prudent and necessary to do so at this material time in the best interest of the NGC party and by extension Sierra Leone as a whole.
Mr. Chairman, as we look ahead towards the bigger picture of the NGC party cause, we the undersigned hereby requested that our names and signatures be withdrawn from the said petition henceforth and leave the rest to be determined by destiny and fate.
Against this backdrop, we the undersigned want to assure the entire NGC membership of our love, loyalty, passion and dedication to the NGC party and to always work in the best interest of the party we loved so well while moving forward with an unshakable focus and determination to achieve a better and cohesive NGC party for a promising future.
We want to count on your usual cooperation an understanding”.
In another development, Paramount Chiefs across Sierra Leone on Sunday 8th January, 2023 sent special envoys to Kychom to hold talks with the 2018 Presidential Candidate for the National Grand Coalition (NGC), Hon. Dr Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella concerning peace, unity and political coherence in country.
This meeting follows the new year day’s invitation to Tihun by His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio.
Dr. Yumkella said: “Yesterday we had a successful meeting with a cross-section of paramount chiefs from the North and South of our country. We will achieve our dream of a grand coalition of progressives through strategic political partnerships to heal and unite our nation”.
Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella is currently in the United Arab Emirate (UAE) and will proceed to Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage/Umra.
