He maintained that Dr. William directed him to the secretary and he later went to the secretary and told her that since 2007 he had not renewed his registration.
Dr. Wahab pointed out that “the accused told me to pay one million five hundred thousand Leones for the years due, and I asked the accused whether I can pay to her,” he averred.
According to Dr. Wahab, the accused admitted to him to pay to her, noting that since the accused had a receipt book in her possession he
thought it is a legal process and paid the money and the accused issued him a receipt.
Dr. Wahab continued that since he did not receive his certificate after making payment that prompted him to write a letter to the
council and later went there personally and asked Dr. Thorpe about his certificate. Dr. Thorpe replied him that they have no evidence of
payment regarding his renewal.
Dr. Wahab said he showed the receipt to Dr. Thorpe who said to him that the receipt in question was a fake, adding that he immediately searched for the accused but was unable to find her. According to Dr. Wahab, he called her on her phone but she was not the one who answered the call, which prompted him to report the matter at the Criminal Investigation Department.
Dr. Wahab also said that Dr. Thorpe denied to him that he did not receive any letter of such which he gave the accused regarding his request for his certificate.
The accused was charged with twenty counts: five for larceny, five counts for forgery, five counts for larceny by servant, five counts for culturing and five counts for embezzlement.
The matter was adjourned to 7th April 2016.
