His Excellency Ernest M. Ndomahina, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China has promoted the vision of His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada at the Third High – Level forum on “Belt and Road” Development in Xiamen.
It was held on 8th–10th September 2020, and was organized by China International Fair for Investment (CIFIT).
The Belt and Road initiative aims to promote collaboration among countries at different stages of development and provide learning opportunities for good practices.
The forum is launched in order to explore the different paths for rural development and poverty reduction.
H.E. Ndomahina expressed appreciation to the organisers for the invitation extended to him that enable him to represent Sierra Leone in a High-Level forum on development.
He said: “I’m humble to be part of this Third High-Level forum on “Belt and Road” Development. I wish to convey the cordial greetings and best wishes of H.E. Dr. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone to H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China.”
Detailing the historical background of the two countries diplomatic relations, Ambassador Ndomahina said the relationship started on 29th July, 1971 when the two countries established diplomatic ties, adding that the China and Sierra Leone have enjoyed deep traditional friendship that is anchored on mutual respect.
“Over the past 49 years, these relations have seen sustainable and smooth development with close high-level exchanges with deep mutual political trust and fruitful cooperation in economic social and cultural fields.” Ambassador stated.
