APC Reinstates Sam Sumana

The National Advisory Committee (NAC) of the All People’s Congress (APC) Party yesterday 9th September, 2020 unanimously approved the reinstatement of former Vice President Chief Alhaji Samuel Sam Sumana as a member of the Party.

The agreement was made at a well-attended meeting in Makeni with over thirty members present under the distinguished chairmanship of the Party’s National Chairman and Leader, former President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma.

It can be recalled that on March 6, 2015, the APC expelled Sam Sumana after receiving a spate of complaints about indiscipline and anti-party activities perpetuated by him.

An Investigation Committee was set up on November 13, 2014 by the NAC with the mandate to investigate complaints forwarded to it by the NAC and to prepare a report containing its findings and recommendations for the attention of the National Advisory Committee.
Over a period of three months, the Committee extensively interviewed and also received audio-visual evidence from complainants, accused and witnesses to back up the process.

Following the submission of the report of the Investigating Committee to the NAC, an unanimous decision to expel Sumana from the party pursuant to Article 8 of the 1995 Constitution of the Party for anti-party activity, fermenting violence, deceit, false statement amounting to fraud, inciting hate, threatening the personal security of key party functionaries, was reached.
