Relaxed Hon. Lamina in his Parliament building office
Credible sources close to the opposition Kono-based Coalition for Change (C4C) party have intimated this writer that the party’s Leader in Parliament, Hon. Saa Emerson Lamina is currently finalising documentations with his legal team to drag the party to court over what he termed as “his illegal removal and replacement as Minority Leader for the party in Parliament”.
It can be recalled that the C4C Party in a press release issued earlier yesterday stated that it has undergone some in-house restructuring including a change in the leadership of the party inside Parliament.
The release went on that the C4C Parliamentary Leader has lost the confidence of his colleagues who have taken a decision to change him as their leader in Parliament.
Speaking to AYV in an exclusive interview last evening of yesterday 29th July, 2020 sitting comfortably in his office in the House of Parliament, Hon. Saa Emerson Lamin said he continues to be the legitimate and recognized leader of C4C in parliament.
He said this is predicated on the fact that, the purported Secretary General who signed the correspondences announcing his “illegal replacement” does not possess the legal standing to do so.
Hon. Saa Emerson Lamina went on to say the power to distribute MPs into Parliamentary Committee is solely reserved for the Selection Committee as stated in Standing Orders 70 Sub-section 1 (b).
For this reason he believes, no political party has a say in how Committees are constituted in Parliament. See page 4 for Hon. Saa Emerson Lamina response.
