During the 2018 Presidential Elections campaigns, now President Julius Maada Bio did promise the people of Bo with lots of developmental activities if elected.
In partial fulfillment of his promises made, the road leading to the Towama Campus of the N’jala University constructed by the First Tricon Company (T. Mark), is in speedy completion.
Residents within and around Towama have expressed their gratitude and satisfaction over the ongoing road construction exercise.
The Towama road is considered one of the major roads which connects more than five other roads to the Central Business District of Bo. The minor roads include: Hanciss road, Air Field road and even the Towama village.
The road had been in a deplorable condition for over decades during previous regimes.
Residents living within those communities had been finding it very difficult to get good access roads to convey their goods to the central market in Bo and beyond.
Speaking to the “Government at Work” media team in Bo, some Kekeh and Okada riders and other road users they explained difficulties they had been going through in running their trade in those communities especially during the rainy season as the road would be completely muddy and in very bad condition.
In an exclusive interview with one of the community Chief at Towama Air Field, he noted: “We voted for changes to take place and thank God the president has taken the bold step to change the narrative of this country as it used to be. We would continue to trust the process as President Bio said in his speech.”
He further reiterated that Governance is continuity so the New Direction administration should take off from where the former Ernest Bai Koroma administration left.
“If the New Direction Government of President Bio continues in this way, we would have no option than give them a clean bill of victory in the 2023/2024 polls” the chief concluded.
Under the New Direction Government of President Bio, he promised the people of Bo some infrastructural improvement, in-line with that; two major roads had been completed since May this year which are Kissy Town road and N’galu road; with two other major roads under construction which are Gerihun road and Towama N’jala University road respectively.
