Member of Parliament for constituency 132 Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh has completed the second phase of the Kondie Farm road located in Malama Lumley. The completion of the road according to residents is a relief to the community.

Kondie Farm community located in Malama Lumley, Western Area of Sierra Leone according to some of the residents has experienced all the challenges that a community with bad roads experiences; from accidents, cut offs during the rains, delay and difficulty in accessing business areas among others.

One of the residents, Kaidiatu Khan said they were finding it difficult to access the community and even business areas.  “We have been suffering for long in this community especially during the rains when the road is cut-off making it difficult to go out,” Kadiatu said, adding that this move by the Member of Parliament has helped ease some of the challenges.

The start of the road construction project according to Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh was borne out of the desire to bring relief to residents. He said the project started in January 2020 to connect communities. The MP added that the road which is at the center has been in a deplorable condition for over fifteen years making it difficult for residents to ply. He said the road is about 202 meters long and over 50 meters wide up to the bridge which cost about 100 million Leones for both the first and final phases.

Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh stated that his focus is on tangible infrastructural developments like roads and is not based on cheap political gains or intentions but rather fulfilling promises he made to constituents to ensure life for them is easier in terms of road access. He went on to say that he is committed to fixing bad roads in his constituency.

Lumley community is known for bad roads; the reason why the MP is embarking on community road development to help ease constrains of constituents and burden on government. The MP had earlier started and completed similar projects in Grassfield, Kaningo, and Potor. He has also undertaken projects like building of schools, toilets, and roads in Jah Kingdom and other communities in his constituency.
