Born in Freetown, Rodney Strasser began his career at local club FC Kallon, before moving to Italy to join AC Milan in 2007.

During his time in Milan’s youth system, he was a member of the Under-20 side, which won the 2009–2010 Coppa Italia Primavera. He made his first-team debut on 21 December 2008, in a 5–1 win against Udinese, coming on as a substitute for Kakha Kaladze in the 82nd minute.

On 20 July 2010, Milan announced that half of the rights to Strasser had been purchased by Genoa for €2.25 million, as part of the deal that saw defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos move to Milan.

Strasser, however, would stay at Milan on loan, joining the first-team squad permanently. His first appearance of the season was in a UEFA Champions’ League group stage 2–0 win against Auxerre which also marked his debut in a European club competition on 23 November. He went on to score his first professional goal in a 1–0 league win over Cagliari on 6 January

Strasser made his international debut for the Sierra Leone national team on 5 September 2010, in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualification game against Egypt.

The Former AC Milan and Sierra Leone international Rodney Strasser said he is “ready for this new adventure” after the 30-year-old midfielder joined the Finnish top-flight side Turun Palloseura ahead of the 2020 season.

“TPS’s Veikkausliiga team received a tough class confirmation when Rodney Strasser joined the striped shirts with a contract covering the 2020 season. “A native of Sierra Leone, Strasser is a defensive midfielder,” the club said in a statement.

“I’m excited and I am looking forward to playing in the Veikkausliiga, a new adventure, a different type of setup and I am happy to be here, working hard for the club,” he said.

“Yes, everyone quickly noticed that a really tough class player was added to the team. His self-confidence is right, and he is also top-notch with a ball. When he showed up according to our practice, his impact on the whole team was immediately apparent. Rodney arrived in Finland at a confusing time, but he has done his job during this challenging period professionally,” TPS head coach Tommi Pikkarainen said about the new acquisition.

The experienced midfielder has played for AC Milan where he won the title during the 2010/11 season.

Has also had spells with Lecce, Parma, Genoa, Reggina, Livorno, Lupa Castelli Romani, in Italy and also in Croatia, NK Zagreb before moving to Portugal Gil Vicente.
