Handing over of the keys to the remodeled terminal
Fawaz Building Materials (FBM) Sierra Leone Ltd. has remodeled and handed over the Ferry Terminal Building at Kissy to the Sierra Leone Ports Authority. This is in fulfillment of the company’s pledge to the government and people of Sierra Leone to improve convenience for ferry passengers, according to Mazen El Safadi, the company’s representative and Managing Director for Design and Build Construction.
For over five years now the Kissy Ferry Terminal Building has been in very deplorable condition and without the necessary facilities to accommodate passengers. Mazen El Safadi said the building now has two lounges for VIP and general passengers, 2 offices, 2 conference rooms and 20 furnished guest rooms.
Expressing his gratitude, the Company Secretary for Sierra Leone Ports Authority (SLPA) Martin Maada George noted that the intervention of Fawaz Building Materials in this facet will boost sea transportation business and by extension, contribute to the nation’s economy.
As the building can now accommodate close to 200 people, the Sierra Leone Ports Authority is calling on the general public’s joint effort with the Ports management to maintain the facility for long term sustainability.
