Fans of various sports AYV met on the streets of Freetown have expressed their views to AYV Sports on what they make of the current pronouncement by the Ministry of Sports, banning all sports activities in the country as a measure to preventing the spread of COVID-19 virus. The Football Association has also done the same by suspending all football activities in compliance with FIFA recommendation to its member associations to take all necessary precautionary measures.

Following the recent press releases from both the Ministry of Sports and the Sierra Leone Football Association to put on hold all sports and football activities as a preparedness measure to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus in Sierra Leone, some sports lovers spoke their minds on this recent development.

Before the Sierra Leone Premier League put on hold all football games, fans were looking forward to one of the biggest fixtures as FC Kallon should have hosted last season’s defending champions East End Lions at the Siaka Steven Stadium this weekend. According to the history of Sierra Leone Football, in most local football leagues, this fixture recorded the highest turn-out. Alhaji Komba is the Secretary of FC Kallon.

Since the Ministry of Sports issued their press release on Tuesday 17th March, 2020, they are yet to meet the press on the issue to no avail. However, other disciplines have been preparing for international games.
