This year’s ODI Mercury International T20 Cricket Premier League that should have commenced this month at the Prince of Wales oval has been suspended with immediate effect by the Sierra Leone Cricket Association.

This was confirmed by Francis Trevor Samura the Chief Executive Officer for Sierra Leone Cricket Association. He said it is to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. Francis Trevor Samura also said this was in line with government position to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in Sierra Leone. He told AYY that the national cricket training sessions will soon commence for all categories but that strict preventive measures will be observed so as to follow the government’s instructions.

He maintained that when training resumes, all fans, players, and officials would be required to strictly observe hand-washing before entering the oval.
