Following the recent Draw for the 2020 West Africa Football Union for Women’s Football that was done on 8th February this year at the Radisson Blu, Mammy Yoko Hotel in Aberdeen, Freetown, the host nation Sierra Leone falls in Group ‘A’ alongside Cape Verde, Guinea and Senegal. Whilst for Group ‘B’ Mali, Liberia, Guinea Bissau and Gambia. The West African Football Union Zone A is made of nine African countries; Senegal, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Cape Verde, Mali, Liberia, Gambia, Sierra Leone and Mauritania. Meanwhile, the Queens commenced intensive training at the Sierra Leone Football Association Academy, Kingtom on Monday 11th February 2020, as part of their preparations for the tournament. Abdulai Bah, aka Kaloga, is the National Head Coach for Sierra Queens. He said as part of building up his squad for the tournament, he has invited seven prolific players from the National Under 20 team who were recently knocked-out by Senegal from the FIFA preliminary qualifiers. Bah said he and his technical team are building up a much more formidable squad and will ensure the Queens fitness level is maintained. The maiden edition of the West Africa Football Union Zone A Female Tournament in Sierra Leone will commence on February 25th and ends on 7th Mach this year in two cities; Bo and Makeni.
